S3 AI

AI based on S3 Buckets

Introduction

What is S3?

Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service) is a scalable cloud storage service provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS). It allows users to store and retrieve any amount of data at any time, making it ideal for backup, archiving, web applications, and big data analytics. S3 is designed for high availability and durability.

What is CogniVis AI?

CogniVis AI is a platform that enables you to pull data from different sources and combine them with each other to create practically useful AI tools. Sources may include your internal company knowledgebase and a variety of most popular business apps like GitHub, Jira, Slack, and more.

This enables you to easily create AI chatbot assistants (internal), custom generators and even embeddable AI chat widgets trained on your data.

How CogniVis AI works with S3?

The S3 Storage Connector integrates seamlessly with your Amazon S3 storage buckets, enabling efficient retrieval and management of stored data for analysis, backup, or further processing.

What exact sources are pulled:

  • Files and Objects
  • File name
  • File size
  • Last modified date
  • Storage class (if enabled)
  • File URL (if public)
  • Metadata
  • Custom metadata tags (if set)
  • Object type (e.g., JSON, CSV, image) (if identified)
  • Content type (if defined)
  • Bucket Information
  • Bucket name
  • Creation date (if logged)
  • Region
  • Access policies (if configured)

Configuration

Generate a Personal Access Key

To connect CogniVis AI with S3, you need to generate a Personal Access Token in S3. This token will be used to authenticate the connection between CogniVis AI and S3.

Sign into your AWS Management Console .

Create User

Go to IAM (Identity and Access Management) dashboard.

In the sidenav, select Users and click Create User button.

Name your token something like "CogniVisConnector" and press Next.

Select Attach policies directly, find AmazonS3ReadOnlyAccess or a policy with comparable permissions and press Next.

If you need tags, add them now and click Create user. At this point, you’ll be on the users page.

Generate a access key

Select the user you just created.

Press create access key and choose Third-party service. Then confirm the option "I understand the above recommendation and want to proceed to creating an access key" and then click Next.

You may add a description tag if you wish, and then select Create access key.

Copy and save the Access key and Secret access key, as you won’t be able to access the Secret Access Key again. Then, press Done.

Add the connector to CogniVis

Navigate to CogniVis Connectors

In your platform, go to the Admin Panel, which you can find in the top right corner of the screen.

Go to the Add Connector section in the menu on the left side of the screen.

Then, search for and select the S3 connector.

Enter the access details

Add your Access Key and Secret access key from above.

Define access

After entering your Bucket name and deciding if you want to make it public, click the CONNECT button.

Use cases

Check out potential benefits and use cases for this connector.

Enhanced Data Analysis

By connecting S3 with CogniVis AI, users can perform complex data analysis on stored files and objects. The AI can leverage file metadata, object types, and content types to categorize and process data efficiently, uncovering trends, patterns, and insights that might be otherwise hidden in raw data.

Automated Backup Management

CogniVis can automate backup processes using S3 data, utilizing the file metadata and storage class information to prioritize and manage backups. This can ensure critical data is backed up more frequently and efficiently, reducing the risk of data loss.

Intelligent Content Organization

Using metadata and custom tags from S3, CogniVis can automatically organize files and objects into relevant categories or folders. This aids in better data management and retrieval, allowing businesses to maintain a structured and accessible data repository.

Security and Compliance Monitoring

By analyzing access policies and bucket information from S3, CogniVis can help monitor security compliance. It can alert users about potential security vulnerabilities or compliance issues based on predefined criteria, ensuring data protection and regulatory adherence.

Optimized Storage Utilization

CogniVis can analyze file sizes, storage classes, and last modified dates to suggest optimizations in storage usage. By identifying obsolete or infrequently accessed data, the AI can recommend more cost-effective storage solutions, reducing unnecessary storage expenses.

Custom AI-Powered Search

With access to S3 metadata and content types, CogniVis can enhance search functionalities by enabling AI-powered querying. This allows users to quickly find specific files or objects based on detailed attributes, improving productivity and reducing search time.

Automated Data Processing Pipelines

CogniVis can automate data processing workflows using S3 object types and content types. This means that new data uploaded to S3 can trigger predefined processing tasks, such as data transformation, cleaning, or analysis, streamlining data operations.

Dynamic Content Delivery

By leveraging file URLs and content types, CogniVis can facilitate dynamic content delivery. For instance, it can provide appropriate content formats based on user preferences or device capabilities, enhancing user experience in web applications or mobile apps.

Comprehensive Data Visualization

With metadata and object types, CogniVis can generate detailed data visualizations that provide a comprehensive overview of stored data. These visualizations can be tailored to highlight specific metrics or insights, aiding in data-driven decision-making.

Proactive Data Lifecycle Management

Using S3 metadata and last modified dates, CogniVis can implement proactive data lifecycle management strategies. This includes automated archiving, deletion of outdated data, and migration of data to more suitable storage classes as needed, ensuring efficient data governance.
