Introduction

What is SharePoint?

Microsoft SharePoint is a web-based collaboration platform that allows teams to store, organize, share, and access information from any device securely. It is commonly used for document management, intranet portals, and content management, helping streamline workflows and improve team productivity.

What is CogniVis AI?

CogniVis AI is a platform that enables you to pull data from different sources and combine them with each other to create practically useful AI tools. Sources may include your internal company knowledgebase and a variety of most popular business apps like GitHub, Jira, Slack, and more.

This enables you to easily create AI chatbot assistants (internal), custom generators and even embeddable AI chat widgets trained on your data.

How CogniVis AI works with SharePoint?

The Github Connector picks up all of the Pull Requests and Issues in a specified repository.

What exact sources are pulled:

Configuration

Generate IDs, client secret value, and add permissions.

Sign In

Sign into your azure portal account.

Generate Application and Directory ID

Navigate to App Registrations.

Press New registrations button.

Title it Cognivis Teams Connector or something similar, leave the remaining settings as they are, and then press Register.

In the overview tab under Essentials you will see the Application ID and Directory ID. Copy them for later.

Generate Client Secret Value

Go to Certificates & secrets and press + New client secret button.

Provide a description, set the expiry to 24 months, and click Add.

Copy the client secret value and save it for later.

Add permissions

Go to API permissions and press + Add a permission button.

Select Microsoft Graph and then Application permissions.

Find the sites permission group and check the box for Sites.Read.All.

After that, press the Add permissions button.

Finally, press Grant admin consent for "Organization name" button and hit Yes.

Add the connector to CogniVis

Navigate to CogniVis Connectors

In your platform, go to the Admin Panel, which you can find in the top right corner of the screen.

Go to the Add Connector section in the menu on the left side of the screen.

Then, search for and select the sharepoint connector.

Add the generated values

Paste the previously copied Application (client) ID, Directory (tenant) ID, and Client Secret Value.

Define access

Clarify whether the documents should be made public, and if you wish, select specific sites for indexing, and then press CONNECT.
