Where to start creating content for a knowledge base

If you've read the previous lessons carefully, you now have enough knowledge to start creating content in your knowledge base.

Thinking about all the valuable information and processes in your company that should be considered, recorded, and standardized might feel overwhelming. Don't be discouraged by this, it's normal, especially when we start working with a new tool and aren't sure where to start.

In my opinion, there's one type of corporate knowledge that's ideal to start with. It's a topic present in every organization, and its advantage is mainly that it's easy to structure, allowing you to practice all the theory you've learned so far.

It's about creating what are called team business cards.

Think about how many times someone in the team (usually a new person) had to reach out to you or others asking for information about who in the company is responsible for a certain thing or who can help them with a particular issue?

How many times have people contacted you in a way that disrupts your workflow?

How many times have you had to search through company data for someone's phone number?

Say to yourself - never again! And create business cards for each team member. Thanks to artificial intelligence, questions like the above can be asked directly to AI and answered in seconds.

Let's walk through the process of creating these business cards together, step by step.

Step 1: Create the appropriate shelf

Such a shelf might be called "General" or "Company-wide," as it will contain information pertaining to the entire company.

Step 2: Create the appropriate book

Next, add a book called "Team" to the "General" shelf, where we will place the business cards of each company member in the following steps.

Step 3: Create chapters for each department

Each department in the company should have its own chapter in the book, for example:

Step 4: Create business cards

Each person should have a dedicated page in the appropriate chapter. This single page is what we call a business card. The title of this page should be the name of the person.
