Templates in a knowledge base
Artificial intelligence and humans have surprisingly a lot in common - such as both AI and we like standardization.
Our human brain prefers patterns because they represent elements that are already familiar. Thus, by using patterns, it does not have to think so intensively and, can be said, to use fewer resources (energy).
That's why we greatly appreciate organized documents set in a predictable and sensible structure at work. It simply speeds up and facilitates our work.
Artificial intelligence has similar preferences, but it is even more picky than us. We humans can still find our way through chaos and, even if it's not comfortable for us, we are able to act in a chaotic environment.
Artificial intelligence copes much worse with chaos. That's why, when creating a knowledge base that will be the basis for AI, we need to ensure the best standardization of all documents.
Templates can help us with this.
A template in CogniVis Docs is a special tool that enables the creation of consistent and uniform documents without needing to start from scratch each time. We can design a template with a specific layout, styles, and predefined content, which can then be used to quickly create new pages while maintaining a uniform structure and appearance of the documentation.
The template serves as a base on which the user can build their content, saving time and ensuring consistency of documentation across the CogniVis system.
Thanks to templates, we simply click on the selected pattern, and the appropriate structure appears in the text editor.
Creating a template
Creating a template in CogniVis Docs is child's play - simply by adding a new page, first click "Templates" in the options on the right, then check the box "Page is a template" and from that moment, it will appear as a template option when creating new pages.
Using a template
Using a template is even simpler - we only need to click "Templates" in the options on the right side and then select the template we created earlier.
Why is this so important?
You must remember that templates are more than just a work facilitator. In the context of AI, their most important function is the standardization of documents.
If all our documents have the same structure, formatting, layout, and style, then the artificial intelligence that relies on them will be much more effective than if it were to operate on non-standardized documents.
Therefore, from the very beginning of creating your knowledge base, take care of templates. Ideally, all necessary templates would be available to your team even before you start adding content to the knowledge base.
